The Recreated ZX Spectrum features a number of exclusive games, which are not available for any other contemporary ZX Spectrum device. These exclusive games include but are no means limited to these three timeless classics, 'Chuckie Egg', 'Jet Set Willy', and 'Manic Miner':

The exclusive games will be available across the range of devices with which the Recreated ZX Spectrum can be used - phones, tablets, Macs / PCs … even connected TVs. The games and applications will be available from app stores, they will also be available online.

The exclusive games will be included (or included as modestly priced in-app purchases) in the FREE Recreated ZX Spectrum iOS and Android apps (1), which will be supplied with the recreated device. They will also be included in the FREE Recreated ZX Spectrum ONLINE html5 / web app, which is currently in development for Macs / PCs (... even selected connected TVs).

Chuckie Egg

Who'd have thought a country farmyard could be so stressful? You must collect the eggs before the nasties get out and eat up all your corn. Watch out for the crazy duck - if she gets out of the cage, you're in real trouble!

Jet Set Willy

Miner Willy, intrepid explorer and nouveau-riche socialite, has been reaping the benefits of his fortunate discovery in surbiton. He has a yacht, a cliff-top mansion, an Italian housekeeper and a French cook, and hundreds of new found friends who REALLY know how to enjoy themselves at a party. His housekeeper Maria, however, takes a very dim view of all his revellry, and finally after a particularly boisterous thrash she puts her foot down. When the last of the louts disappears down the drive in his Aston Martin, all Willy can think about is crashing out in his four-poster. But Maria won't let him into his room until ALL the discarded glasses and bottles have been cleared away. Can you help Willy out of his dilemma?

Manic Miner

In this classic platform game, you must explore each of twenty caverns to collect keys and exit each room before Willy's oxygen supply runs out. Watch out Poisonous Pansies, Spiders, Slime, and worst of all, Manic Mining Robots!

Astroclone

A team of crack pilots, soldiers and technicians were assembled to form a group known as the Clone Warriors. For months they trained for an unknown mission. At the end the Space Commander himself arrived for their final briefing. The Clone Warriors were led to a large chamber resembling a hospital ward with rows of couches fronted by monitor screens. The cloning device lowered and the room lights dimmed. The advanced Sei computers combined the data from each of the Clone Warriors to produce the master image of the Astro-Clone. The monitors flickered to life to show the static image of the 24 Star-sectors. The combined mind of the Clone Warriors recognised Sol in the top left corner where 15 Clone Ships were ready to battle the Seiddab. Simultaneously the combined minds operated the control panels. A ship left the Sol sector and moved into Seiddab territory. The Astro-Clone invasion was underway.

Astronut

After weeks of waiting the Space Freighter has nearly reached your settlement on Planet CS, light-years from your home planet. But, disaster... A sudden meteor storm has devastated the ship, and its cargo of Resource Blocks has been scattered over the Planet. The people have elected you to journey outside the settlement and round up the Resource Blocks; unfortunately, this is unexplored terrain and there are many dangers....so you will have to collect the Blocks on the Matter Transporter Pads at the bottom of each level. Erupting volcanoes throw you up to the first bridge or ledge you reach.

Automania

You as Wally Week have ten cars to build, each consisting of 6 parts. You will begin in the store area with tyres bouncing around to hit you. You must go to the stock room, identify the parts required, and go up the ladders to each level to collect them (moving over the part will collect it). The gangplanks are none too safe and you must jump the gaps to reach the relevant parts. There are various items strewn on the floors which again have to be jumped over. These appear in different places on the screen, so the game is a constant challenge.

Avalon

Avalon introduces a number of features you will not have previously encountered and though you will quickly become accustomed to them, these instructions are necessarily lengthy. To obtain maximum enjoyment you are advised to read all the instructions carefully.

Battle Ships

Select your Ships locations and then in turn with your opponent you each take turns of 24 shots to try and discover and destroy their fleet.

Batty

The object of the game is to knock the blocks out of the court by bouncing a ball off your racket and hitting them. You advance to the next level by knocking out every block in the court.

Beyond the Ice Palace

Beyond the Ice Palace lies a mystical land caught up in a battle between good and evil. Dark spirits are setting alight the forests, destroying the homes and livelihood of simple woodcutters. In desperation the ancient and wise spirits of the woods shoot a sacred arrow into the air. Whoever finds it will be able to destroy the powers of darkness...

Critical Mass

An outlying system of the Terra Federation has set up an advanced anti-matter conversion plant on a centrally positioned asteroid to supply the local colonists with energy. A surprise attack by alien forces has successfully overcome the asteroid's defences and the aliens are now threatening to self-destruct the power plant unless the colonists offer an unconditional surrender. The self-destruction process would effectively turn the power plant into a massive black hole that would wipe out the entire planetary system along with a number of nearby stars. Unconditional surrender offers an equally horrific prospect. Your mission is to infiltrate the enemy position and disable the anti-matter plant before the aliens achieve CRITICAL MASS.

Crystal Kingdom Dizzy

The sun does not always shine in the Yolkfolk village. In fact, this particular day is looking remarkably grim. Stormy clouds thunder across the sky, the rain hammers down, the electricity flickers and, to top it all, Grand Dizzy is in an awful mood.

The source of Grand Dizzy's bad mood is his egg-ache. The old duffer had been practising his somersaults in the kitchen and slipped on the wet floor. "What do you think you're doing bouncing around like that at your age?!" groaned Dizzy under the strain of picking up the old egg. "You'll give yourself a nasty crack on the head."

Cybernoid

Federation storage depots have been raided by pirates, taking valuable minerals, jewals, ammunition and the latest battle weaponary. You have been commissioned by the Federation to retrieve the cargo and return it to a storage within a specified time limit. Extra points and an extra ship will be awarded if you succeed. The pirate craft have activated all planetary defence systems which you will have to negotiate as well as the pirates themselves. If you fail to reach the depot within the time limit or the value of your retrieved cargo is insufficent you must forfeit one of your Cybernoid ships.

Cybernoid II: The Revenge Green

The pirates have returned in a new Battlestar, even more fearsome than the last and have gain plundered the Federation storage depots. As you did such a good job last time you've been commisioned once again to retrieve the stolen cargo. You've been given an all new ship and a bigger arsenal of weaponary but the task will be just as perilous.

Doomdark's Revenge

The sequal to The Lords of Midnight: Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to rescue Morkin the Free, to defeat Shareth the Heartstealer in battle and to search for the Runes of Finorn - an ancient and magical message which may be read by Rorthron the Wise. When this has been done you must return Luxor and, if they survive, Rorthron, Morkin and Tarithel to the Gate of Varenorn and at nightfall your task will have been completed. If this proves too difficult you may opt for just one or two of the above: if Shareth is defeated or Morkin is free you have gained a partial victory. Should Morkin or Tarithe be killed you can still achieve this but Luxor's overwhelming grief could well be his downfall. If Luxor is slain, however, then Shareth has won victory.

Fat Worm Blows a Sparky

The aim of the game is to find and eat 50 of the rotating triangular shapes called "SPINDLES", then find and climb onto the disk (which has the word "DURELL" written on it) where you must "clone" the worm to complete the game. You must kill or avoid the bugs. If four bugs get onto your worm it will suffer a fatal error (death).

Frost Byte

Deep within the caverns of the planet Cosmia a lifetime struggle for freedom is being lost. Kreezers from all over the planet are being captured by the ghoulish monsters who inhabit the planet craters. There is only one hope. A Kreezer, once captured, now free; must now make his way through the caverns fraught with danger to freedom. On his way he must free the five other Kreezers also captured. He has the ability - do you have the nerve? To aid him on his way ammunition for destroying various monsters can be found scattered around the planet. There are also a variety of different coloured energy sweets which he will need to complete his escape.

Grand National

The Grand National course is regarded as the toughest race course in the world. Those who ride it risk injury or death jumping fences such as the chair, a notorious fence nearly four feet wide and rive feet high, fronted by a six foot ditch. It isn't surprising that this fence has been responsible for many injuries over the years. It is your job as the jockey not only to conquer the course through knowing your horse, but also to make the choice of horse that you will ride in the race. The whole game can be won or lost on this decision alone. The game combines these factors to produce a combination of strategy and skill, with all the excitement of the Grand National on your screen. Running a number of nationals can build up a career record, and a final award is given to the top riders. Now take the reins on your 48K ZX Spectrum and gallop your way into the record books!

Harrier Attack

You are in an RAF Harrier. The aim of the game is to travel all the way across the map back to your aircraft carrier, while destroying as many enemy installations as possible on the way, using your bombs and missiles, and also staying alive. The top two-thirds of the screen show your view of the world, and the bottom third shows you your current information, including speed and ammunition. To start the game, you must select the difficulty level, which determines the height of the mountains, the number of enemies, and the speed of the game. It does get very fast on the higher levels!

Impact

A large chunk of rock is presently being plotted across space, on a course to impact with the city of London and the scientists involved in tracking this asteroid are, at this moment in time, actively engaged in seeking out some means at their disposal with which to divert it from its chosen path. A high-intensity laser-beam is tried but to no avail and then, just when the cause seems lost, news breaks of a 'repelling-beam' machine invented by a now-dead professor. YOUR task is to locate this machine and if possible to utilise it to deflect the asteroid and thus save the city of London from certain destruction .... Can YOU do just that?

Impossaball

Do you have the nerve and skill to guide your bouncing Impossaball through the corridor of doom? Time is running out. Bounce onto a spike and Impossaball is obliterated. Touch a column and Impossaball rebounds at electric speeds. Against a constantly moving background of death dealing obstacles you must squash all the cylinders to complete the game. Are you good enough? Race against the clock to bounce the impossaball from the start to the finish line squashing all the cylinders and avoiding the spikes, plasma fields and fire bolts on the way. The first time you hit a magic ring you gain extra time, but do so twice and you lose a life. You've got four lives to start with and gain an extra life every 5000 points.

Jet Set Willy

Jet Set Willy II

Whilst recovering in hospital from a severe fall down some stairs, Willy called in the builders. He thought it odd that they had green skin, but needing the work done in a hurry he asked them to remove the offending edges from his stairs. Trouble was, they did far more work than asked, adding several rooms to his mansion and then refusing to charge him!! Maria is demanding that Willy clears up the mess and he hasn't even found all the rooms yet. Who were these strange people? Why did they need to add a Rocket Room to Willy's already substantial house? Much patience and stamina is required to explore the extended house and NASA's "Guide to Simple Space Travel" is recommended reading for those foolhardy enough to help Willy clear up the mess. Be careful in the sewers and watch out for the bell ringer in the Belfry!! Good Luck!!

Kokotoni Wilf

Ulrich the Magician must renew the sleep spell on the lair of dangerous dragons, lest the creatures again awake. To do this he needs the Dragon Amulet, which has been broken into many pieces and scattered across time and space. These pieces must be retrieved and reassembled. Ulrich is too old to undertake the task himself and so has sent his assistant, Kokotoni Wilf, on the mission instead. He has given Wilf magical wings to assist him on his quest. You must guide Wilf through several different time zones in order to try and collect the legendary fragments of the amulet. When all the pieces in a level have been collected a timegate will open (a flashing amulet piece) to allow Wilf to travel to the next era.

Kwik Snax Dizzy

Lone Wolf - The Mirror of Death

Based on the hit series of roleplaying gamebooks, Lone Wolf is an excellent side-scrolling beat 'em that puts you in the shoes of Lone Wolf - last of the Kai Masters, a fantasy hero who looks like a cousin of either Conan the Cimmerian or Hercules. Your job: exorcise the evil spirit of a nasty old sorceror by defeating 7 shadowy demons who inhabit the shards of the Mirror Of Death.

Lords of Midnight, The

The Lords of Midnight is a wargame/adventure game. The player starts with four characters (Luxor the Moonprince, Rorthron the Wise, Corleth the Fey, and Morkin), and then has the option to recruit up to twenty-eight further characters (such as Lord Ithrorn, The Utarg of Utarg, Lords Blood, Xajorkith, Shadows, etc. plus Farflame the Dragon Lord, Fawkin the Skulkin, and others) to join in the quest to destroy Doomdark, the evil Witchking who has locked the Land of Midnight in perpetual winter. The game can be played in three ways. The first is as a straight adventure game, where the goal is for Morkin to destroy the Ice Crown, the source of Doomdark's power. The second is as a war game, recruiting other lords and their armies until you are strong enough defeat Doomdark's armies and storm his citadel in the far north. A third variation, requires the player to complete the game both ways simultaneously.

You wake up in the offices of Destructo Inc. because of the horrible ringing of the phone. Your boss is shouting something about a job he has for you, but since you are sleeping, you feel like throwing the phone out the window.But, suddenly, you realise, that he says you will pilot the new submarine Mk7 and he will pay well. You rush trough the front door without hearing your boss' words: "...It will be a dangerous task".

Overlander

The year is 2025. Since the 20th century the once green planet is now dry and parched with little vegetation. Aerosols, a primitive form of container are to blame. The damaged Ozone layer forced people to go underground. Today the only link between the underground cities are the old highways, now ruled by lawless gangs outlaws known in full as the surface dwellers. The only people who dare making trips these days are the Overlanders

Pyjamarama

Welcome to the nightmare world of Wally Week. Even Wallys have to sleep - the trouble is, being a Wally nightmares are more troublesome than you would think. Sweet dreams, Wally? NO CHANCE. Being a Wally, nightmares are more common than pleasant dreams, and the one you are entered is the worst ever. Not only are you still looking and acting like a Wally you can't even sleep like normal people, and you are having the Daddy of all nightmares. OK Wally, don't you just lie there suffering in your nightmare do something about it. Well how would you normally wake yourself up? That's right, with an alarm clock. No problem, or is it? Just find the clock, wind it up, and your nightmare is over. Parts of your nightmare may repeat themselves, repeat themselves, repeat themselves. Of course, being a nightmare and you being a Wally things ain't gonna be that easy.

Ranarama

Mervyn the frog is transported to one of the rooms in the top level of the evil dungeon. Your aim is to explore each room in turn to track down the evil warlocks but you will probably also have to battle with the evil hordes which guard each warlock. In some rooms there are also squat, tomb-like weapon generators which are the source of spinning knives and other weapons. You can destroy the generators to score extra points. Each room lights up as you enter it and the aerial viewpoint shows you the magic Floor Glyphs which you may use to help you in your quest. The Floor Glyphs are square marking on the floor and to use one you must be stationary on it before you press the FIRE button. They are explained in more detail below. When you locate a warlock, leap on top of him and you will lock him in a ritual combat game. The letters of the word RANARAMA will be scrambled before your eyes and you must put them back in order before the time runs out. Press LEFT or RIGHT to select a pair of highlighted letters and press FIRE to reverse the order of the pair. Having defeated a warlock his runes are scattered to the four corners of the room he inhabited, Collect as many of his runes as you can before they fade and die because you can use them to increase your power and resilience.

Roller Coaster

Colonel G. Bogey's Pleasure Park is in full swing - but what's this?! A disgruntled employee has swiped the takings and left them scattered all over the fairground: and he's sabotaged all the rides so that they can't be switched off! The Colonel's closed the Park - but can he get his money back? The only way he can do it is to ride the rides - but at the speed they're going it looks like suicide to try. Is it worth it? Of course it is! Way to go, Colonel!

Saboteur!

When you select to start the game, you will be asked for a difficulty level. This determines how many enemies there are, and how long you have to find the disk. The aim of the game is to find the secret disk and then escape from the complex using the helicopter, before the time limit runs out. Thankfully, the time does stop as soon as you find the disk. Up and down will make the saboteur jump and crouch respectively, unless they are standing on or next to a ladder, in which case he will climb it in the appropriate direction. The top section of the screen display is your view of the world. The bottom section is divided into three parts. The far left and far right show what the saboteur is currently holding (if anything) and what they are standing near. The middle section shows a variety of information, including score, time and health. If the saboteur is standing near something, and is not carrying anything, then pressing fire will pick it up. Should fire be pressed while the saboteur is carrying something, then they will throw the object in the direction he is facing, unless it is the disk.

Saboteur II

The dictator's new command centre and office complex is being built on top of a mountain filled with underground tunnels and caverns. An armoury building is on the top left of the mountain, and a missile silo is on the top right. The central top area is still being developed. There is only one way out of the mountain, which is the long entrance tunnel on the bottom left, sometimes protected by an electrified perimeter fence. This site covers over 700 computer screens. On the stolen disk, the rebels have found a small outline map.

Scuba Dive

Take control of a little guy in scuba gear as he explores the sea from his boat, looking for hidden treasures! As you swim about (avoiding the assorted marine-life), you will find clams on the ocean bed. When they open their shells, swoop down and grab their pearls! Return these pearls to the ship to earn points. Watch out for you air level - you'll need to return to the boat when it gets low, but the boat doesn't stay still - it moves! To get the big points, find the octopus. Swim under him (it's pretty hard!) and you'll find a lower down section with much bigger clams (and fish!). Find another octopus here and swim down again, and you'll find a chasm. Leading off this chasm are many narrow passages. Hidden in these passages are treasure chests which are worth bucket-loads of points! Watch you don't crash into the rocks too many times though, and keep an eye on that air level! There are air tanks which you can refill your oxygen from in these lower sections, but they're few and far between!

Sigma 7

SIGMA SEVEN is an all-action arcade game featuring imaginative state-of-the-art 3D graphics and exciting synthesised sound. There are seven increasingly more difficult stages to the game which starts-out easy but ends-up almost impossible. Each stage is split into three phases: first take a space-fighter and blast your way to the next station through swarm-mine defences, then free that station´s internal pathways of killer-robots and radioactive deposites, to finally reach the remote-controlled main panel which must be reset within a critical few seconds. May be played on keyboard or with a single joystick. Quick reactions essential.

Starstrike

... suddenly there were the Outsiders. Appearing in massive fleets on the edge of the galaxy they seemed uninterested in conquest, only destruction. Earth's fleets decimated and the Federation lay on the brink of collapse. In desperation Federation Command chose to strike directly at the Outsider control centres. These immense bases were constructed within hollowed out moons. To destroy them required a direct hit on the base's reactor systems at the very centre of the moon. The only access to the reactor chamber was through two cooling ports within the base's equatorial duct. To reach these, however, an attacker was forced to run the gauntlet of the base's heavy ground and space defences. To penetrate these a new generation of starfighters was created - the STARSTRIKE series..

Starstrike II

Your task is definitely non-trivial - 22 planets to be neutralised, divided into Agricultural, Industrial and Military categories. Each planet has a control system in charge of the work droids and factories of that world; destroy the control system and the planet is put out of action.

Tau Ceti

After an incident on 61 Cygnus in 2197 when a rookie pilot selected the wrong gear when docking with the main central reactor and reduced half the planet to molten lava, Gal-Corp decided that a special training facility was needed to provide an elite corps of pilots for the advanced military skimmers used in colonisation and reconnaisance work. The Galcorp Academy for Advanced Skimmer Pilots (GASP) was founded in 2213 to meet this requirement. With an intake of over a hundred would be skimmer pilots a year, only a few meet the exacting requirement of flying and combat skills. In order to graduate from the Academy cadets must complete 20 missions, grouped in five levels of four, successfully.

Thanatos

Fly to the right till you get to a castle, then land and walk up to the castle gate. Use flame from close range to burn down gate. If you run out of flame go back and find a witch tied between two stakes and eat her (just walk up to her slowly). This will refill your energy shown by glass (on the bottom right of the screen). In the first castle land near the girl (who will coloured green, and will be waving with both arms), and allow her to climb onto your neck (ie: just land nearby and wait). Fly onto the next castle. When you find the book of spells, land and let the girl collect them. Fly to the last castle where you will find the cauldron in which the girl can cast her spell. Land nearby.

Treasure Island Dizzy

Turbo Esprit

Four smugglers' cares are meeting an armoured car carrying drugs - you must stop them and their cargo, and stop the armoured car after it has made its last drop. You score points for capturing the smugglers alive and lose points for shooting innocent motorists. Obey traffic lights, avoid road-works and watch out for pedestrian crossings.

Uridium

The solar system is under attack! Enemy Super-Dreadnoughts have been placed in orbit around each of the planets. They are draining mineral resources from the planetary cores for use in their power units. Each Super-Dreadnought seeks out a different metal for its metal convertor. Your Manta class Space Fighter will be transported to each planet in turn and it is your task to destroy each Dreadnought. First you must attack the defensive screen of enemy fighters, then you must neutralise the majority of surface defences before you land on the Super-Dreadnought's master runway. It is then possible to activate the Dreadnought's self destruct mechanism. Your Manta fighter is deployed on a low-level strafing run as you start your assault on the aliens' defences. You must avoid the meteor screens and communications aerials which tower above the Dreadnought's surface. The fighter defences deploy in waves. A bonus is awarded after landing if all ships in a wave are destroyed. Attack surface features to score bonus points but beware of the homing mines which materialise over flashing generator ports! When the LAND NOW message appears, move as soon as possible to the right hand end of the Super-Dreadnought and fly flat over the end of the master runway from left to right.

Willy's Great Adventure

Authorised by Matthew Smith,'Wlly's Great Adventure' for the ZX Spectrum, is a worthy follow up to 'Manic Miner', 'Jet Set Willy' and 'Jet Set Willy II', 28 years in the making.

Zynaps

Zynaps is a shoot-em-up set in an alien infested planetary system. The game begins with our hero escaping in Scorpion fighter from an alien space station out into deep space. Battle continues through asteroid storms to a nearby planet from where, eqipped with weaponry and hyperspace units taken from many destroyed alien craft, he sets out in search of the secret alien stronghold. After many terrifying battles fought throughout the solar system our hero discovers the location of the alien base and the final conflict can begin.
